It was known to the first inhabitants as 'Coonanglebah' - the Island of Peace and Plenty. Today, Voyages Dunk Island continues to be Australia's most beautiful rainforest island.

With an enormous variety of activities to choose from, it's hard deciding what to do next. You could start the day with a rainforest walk and take in the spectacular views from the summit of Mt Kootaloo. After breakfast, explore one of the National Park walking trails through the rainforest and later perhaps a snorkel at Muggy Muggy Beach. During lunch you can plan the afternoon ahead. Perhaps some water skiing followed by a game of tennis. Or should that be kayaking followed by squash?

And that's just one day on Voyages Dunk Island. You've still got to fit in a trip to the Great Barrier Reef, a visit to the Artists' Colony, horse riding on the beach, and some fishing! Beachfront Suites

Situated beachside the rooms offer virtually uninterrupted views over Brammo Bay with direct access to the beach. Set in small groups of four units (two units upstairs, two downstairs), Beachfront Suites are bright and spacious with a king bed and a luxurious bathroom with a twin vanity. The interior is split-level with the upper level featuring the sleeping area and a comfortable living area on the lower level. Rooms have a relaxed coastal feel with double glass doors leading onto a large balcony. Additional in-room amenities include CD Player, bathrobes and fully stocked mini bar. Interconnecting rooms are available.

Beachfront Rooms

Situated beachside with easy access to the beach through a tropical garden, guests can enjoy views over Brammo Bay from most rooms. Upstairs rooms have balconies and down stairs rooms have a patio and lead onto the gardens and the beach. Rooms are comfortable with modern decor and timber furniture on a split-level layout. Rooms have a separated living and sleeping area and ensuite facilities with combined bath and shower. All rooms feature one king and one single bed, or family configurations are available with two Queen beds and one Single Bed. Additional in-room amenities include bathrobes and fully stocked mini bar. Interconnecting rooms are available.

Spa Package Inclusions: (Price is per person) An initial Spa consultation to determine the best treatments for you, a welcome bottle of sparkling wine & two (2) treatments up to a maximum of 2 hours per person. How to get to Dunk Island

Voyages Dunk Island is located approximately 4 kilometres off the Tropical North Queensland coast, midway between Townsville and Cairns.

Getting to Cairns

To get to Dunk Island regular flights are available to Cairns from all Australian Capital cities with Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Blue.

Once arriving at Cairns you are either able to hop on a short 45 minute flight to Dunk Island with Hinterland Transfers or alternatively a boat transfer operates between Mission Beach and Dunk Island daily. See below for more details.

Transfer between Cairns and Dunk Island

Hinterland Aviation operates scheduled regular scenic transfer flights between Cairns Airport and Dunk Island up to 3 times daily on behalf of Voyages Hotels & Resorts. Private transfer charter flights to Dunk Island are also available upon request.

Transfer duration: approx. 45 min. Check-in is 30 minutes prior to the flight departure at the Hinterland Aviation terminal.

Mission Beach Dunk Island Connections operate services between Northern Beaches, Cairns Airport, Cairns City and Dunk Island daily to connect with the Quickcat between Mission Beach and Dunk Island.

The Quickcat operates between Mission Beach, Clump Point (2 hours south of Cairns) and Dunk Island.

Transfer departs Mission Beach 3 times daily at 10.00, 14.00 and 16.10.

Return transfer departs Dunk Island at 9.15 and 15.30 daily.
